The Face Mask Made For You

Hello my beauties,

This week on Instagram I talked all about face masks! Today I am going to go more in depth with face masks, I will tell you the benefits, and we will find the face mask your face has been missing!

Let’s talk about the benefits of a face mask. Whatever your skin concerns are, a face mask is usually the place to start. Masking 1-3 times per week helps your skin concerns tremendously. Masks can help combat, dryness, oiliness, pore size, and so much more. Keep reading to find which face mask is best for you.

If you have normal to dry skin what face mask is right for you? For this skin type I recommend sheet masks & hydrojelly masks. These two masks help to lock in moisture and help to seriously combat dryness.

Sheet masks are face shaped fabric masks soaked in serums. These masks are so easy to use and there is no mess. My favorite brand of sheet masks are Tony Moly. They are so affordable and the results are amazing.

Hydrojelly mask, my absolute favorite type of mask. These masks go on as a thick jelly consistency and harden as they set. When these mask first go on in jelly form your skin absorbs all of the nutrients from the mask, then when they harden it locks in that nutrients by creating a one way barrier and pulls out impurities. My favorite brand of hydrojelly mask are Esthemax. With these masks a licensed professional has to sell them to you, so let me know if you are interested!

Now on to the perfect face mask for normal to oily skin. For this skin concern I recommend a sheet mask and rubber mask. Both masks help hydrate the skin which is exactly what you need if you have oily skin. For information and recommendations please look at above.

Rubber masks are amazing they go on in a thick consistency and then when they set they harden. This is amazing for oily skin it helps nourish the skin by forming a barrier and forcing the active ingredients into your skin, like the hydrojelly. When the mask hardens it pulls impurities out as well. My favorite rubber mask is Dr. Jart+ Rubber Masks they have a few different types to cater to other skin concerns. As stated in the graphic below rubber masks can be seriously messy so make sure you are prepared! If you have sensitive skin both of these masks will be perfect for you.

Now for my oily and acne prone skin beauties. For this skin type I recommend a charcoal or a mud mask. Both are amazing at drawing out excess sebum and impurities. Both of these masks can be quite drying so be sure to moisturize after.

My favorite affordable charcoal mask is Feeling Beautiful’s Charcoal & Black Sugar mask. This is a dual mask it has sugar in it so when you wash the mask off it also does a light exfoliation to your skin!

My absolute favorite clay mask is the Indian Healing Clay Mask from Aztec Secret. It is super affordable and you can mix it with water or with apple cider vinegar. It is also super affordable which is an added bonus!

Remember with both of these types of masks they are made to bring impurities to the surface so after using them your skin could look worse before it looks better. Also with charcoal and mud mask I would only recommend using them twice a week.

Masking can help many different skin types and skin concerns, there is always an option for you. I recommend adding a face mask on to your nighttime routine 1-3 times a week. For optimal results I recommend getting a facial once a month. Make sure you reevaluate your skin type every season to be sure you are using the right products. When the seasons change so can our skin types so its great to know what products to use in what seasons.

If you have any questions regarding which mask you should be using don’t hesitate to ask me! Next week I will be talking all about free radicals, but for now I hope this helped!

xoxo, your estie bestie.
